Established in 1986 Abbey Owney has gone from strenght to strenght. Over the years we have produced fornitures for hotels and bars all over the world including: London, Europe, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, New Zealand and USA.

THE TEAM

Tom Walsh | Director

Tom set up Abbey Owney in 1987 and has gradually grown the business from strength to strength. Tom graduated with a BA in Town and Regional Planning and while at college started up a small upholstering business literally set up in his parents back garden shed.

Tom is very aware of the need to integrate leading edge designs with functionality, comfort and affordability. Tom is thus constantly innovating and modifying new product lines to reflect market demands or designing bespoke peices to suit the demands of our various clients.

Alan Andrews | Sales/Project Managment

Alan has an extensive background in the Hotel and Catering Industry having qualified from DIT Cathal Brugha Street in 1996. He followed this with a Degree in Business and Marketing in DCU and worked at the front line of catering till joining Abbey Owney in 2005.

Alan has an in-depth knowledge of restaurants, bars and hotels and cafes.  This experience is invaluable for providing key advice to tailor our client needs to suit practical day to day operations of the property.   Combining this with  the overall look, feel and style of the project brief means our clients get properties that not only look good but the work practices flow to generate efficiencies and best practices.

Noel Breen | Joinery Manager
Having joined Abbey Owney in 2001, Noel has gradually progressed from machine programmer to head up the joinery department. Noel Qualified from UL with a Degree in Wood Science and is the technical knowledge behind bespoke seating and all custom manufactured bedroom designs.

Noels particular expertise is turning the bespoke briefs and designs that we receive into working finished pieces.

Michael Walsh | General Manager
Mike is with Abbey Owney since Tom moved the company to The Dublin road in Annacotty in 1991. Mike has a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has worked on numerous projects from corner pubs to hotels.

Mike manages the 40,000 square foot factory, including 40 staff and co-ordinates all fittings and deliveries.

Lorna Jones   Office Manager / Receptionist
Lorna has been with Abbey Owney since 2000.  Lorna is the woman behind all the men !  She keeps us all in check and in general runs the show.
